Airlines for America (A4A), the industry trade organization for the leading U.S. airlines, today named Lauren Beyer as Vice President, Security and Facilitation. Beyer joins A4A after 11 years of federal service with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and, most recently, as the Director for Aviation and Surface Transportation Security at the National Security Council (NSC).
In her new role she will oversee all aspects of interaction with DHS, Customs and Border Protection and the TSA. Beyer starts her new role immediately and will report directly to A4A's Senior Vice President of Legislative and Regulatory Policy, Sharon Pinkerton, with indirect responsibility to A4A President and CEO Nicholas E. Calio.
Beyer holds a Bachelor of Arts in American government from the University of Texas at Austin and a master's in government from Georgetown University.
