Flight Safety Foundation Names Shahadi CEO

The Flight Safety Foundation (FSF) has named MITRE Corp. executive Hassan Shahidi as its new President and CEO, succeeding Jon Beatty. Shahidi will begin his new job in January.

Currently Director of Aviation Safety and New Entrant Integration at MITRE, Shahidi played a leading role in development of the Aviation Safety Information Analysis and Sharing (ASIAS) program. Shahidi also helped extend the data-sharing concept to the Asia Pacific region, with the launch of the AP-Share initiative.

He holds a private pilot license and has earned several advanced degrees in economics and engineering.

Beatty, a former United Technologies and International Aero Engines executive who joined the FSF in April 2014, will remain with the foundation through January to assist in the leadership transition.
